2003
The discovery at Yale
Dr. M. Marc Abreu identifies the brain-to-eyelid temperature pathway at Yale University, the world's first noninvasive window into brain temperature.
2004
SARS pandemic response
btt technology is deployed in partnership with the Chinese Government during the original SARS outbreak for noninvasive fever screening.
2006
btt Corp. founded
The company is incorporated to bring the Yale discovery to the world, building the technology platform from the ground up.
2010
FDA clearance
The Abreu btt 700 System receives FDA 510(k) clearance, becoming the world's first noninvasive, continuous brain temperature monitoring system.
2011
ASUS partnership
Strategic partnership with ASUS to deliver the first PC-based, FDA-cleared temperature monitoring platform.
2012
Clinical operations begin
The btt Medical Institute opens in Connecticut. First U.S. patent filed for activating the body's repair proteins through the btt pathway.
2017
Microsoft partnership
Multi-year partnership with Microsoft for AI, sleep science, smart eyewear, and the btt app ecosystem.
2020
Florida flagship + COVID-19 research
The new flagship medical institute opens in Aventura, FL. btt publishes research showing brain temperature patterns can detect asymptomatic COVID-19 infection.
2025
ALS reversal published
The peer-reviewed ALS reversal case is published in Diseases (MDPI).
2026
Bahamas expansion
The Bahamas government sponsors a six-location expansion of the btt Medical Institute.

Dr. Marc Abreu is the scientist behind Brain Thermodynamics and the founder of the btt Corp. In 2003, while serving as a professor at Yale School of Medicine, he discovered the Brain-Eyelid Thermal Regulatory Tunnel. His work connects decades of physiological research with clinical, wellness and scientific applications across the btt platforms.
