With the number of new cases growing every year, the researcher is betting on new approaches to dealing with the development of the disease

Considered a global public health problem by INCA (National Cancer Institute), the importance of developing new research and methods to prevent and treat the disease is increasingly evident. With the global burden of cancer increasing, physicians and researchers like Dr. Marc Abreu see a growing need to address these new cases.

Data released in 2023 by INCA showed that, in the last decade alone, there has been a 20% increase in the incidence of cancer cases. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) of the World Health Organization (WHO), it is predicted that by 2050, more than 35 million new cases of cancer will be registered worldwide, representing a 77% increase compared to the 20 million cases estimated in 2022.

Marc Abreu and cancer treatment

Dr. Marc Abreu is the director of the btt Medical Institute, specializing in Advanced Brain-Guided Hyperthermia using btt Technology. This is the only center in the world offering this innovative technique for the treatment and prevention of cancer and neurological diseases.

For many years, he has dedicated his life to finding ways to combat and improve the quality of life of patients with serious diseases like cancer. During this journey, Marc Abreu developed innovative treatments, such as the induction of heat shock proteins through brain-guided hyperthermia and hypothermia.

The procedures are performed based on cerebral thermodynamics and thermoregulatory frequencies. They do not require anesthesia, are completely noninvasive, and have no side effects.

Scientific basis of treatment

The technique developed by Dr. Marc Abreu at the btt Medical Institute is a treatment based on the natural induction of heat shock proteins, which correct misfolded proteins and have the potential to restore certain neurological diseases and cancer.

The researcher’s work is based on medical ethics and US regulations. His innovative approach utilizes brain thermodynamics and brain temperature, with applications in therapy, diagnosis, and disease prevention.

The btt technology is FDA-cleared and is used to reduce suffering and save lives. The American Cancer Society (ACS) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) endorse the use of hyperthermia, which uses controlled heat to treat cancer, enhancing the effectiveness of other treatments such as radiation therapy and chemotherapy.

A recently published study has renewed the hopes of cancer patients awaiting updates on the technique applied at btt Medical Institute by Dr. Marc Abreu.

The research, published by the University of Paris and Georges Pompidou Hospital, not only reviews btt technology but also describes the importance of heat shock protein activation mechanisms and the effects of hyperthermia in cancer treatment. These include the induction of apoptosis, normalization of the tumor microenvironment, and stimulation of the immune system, all of which are potential factors for optimizing the effects of treatments such as radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy.

The study was published and disseminated by the scientific journal Stem Cell Reviews and Reports, from Springer Nature, and was recently indexed in PubMed, renowned for being the primary source for scientific articles worldwide.

Patient Scott Miller

It is important to note that Dr. Marc Abreu and btt Medical Institute do not promise a cure for cancer. The treatment is provided exclusively to improve the health and extend the life expectancy of patients living with this disease.

Success stories, like that of patient Scott Miller, are considered a breakthrough for the scientific community. He was diagnosed with terminal-stage prostate cancer and achieved complete remission of the disease after treatment at btt Medical Institute.

Episodes like Miller’s are not exclusive. Many patients with the same disease have been treated by Marc Abreu, showing tumor reduction, normalization of cancer markers in the blood, and even remission of metastatic disease—when the illness spreads to other organs.

As seen in the case of engineer Caetano Miranda reported in Brazil, Miranda’s tests were conducted by Quest Diagnostics, the largest independent clinical testing laboratory in the U.S. The results show the normalization of prostate cancer-related markers in the blood, validating the therapeutic outcome and the treatment’s molecular-level efficacy.

Who is Dr. Marc Abreu?

Dr. Marc Abreu is a renowned surgeon and ophthalmologist with experience at prestigious institutions such as Harvard and Yale, where he led the Interdisciplinary Research Group on btt. He is a specialist in various fields, including medical physics, bioengineering, and neuroscience. He has worked on research and development projects involving lasers for the U.S. Department of Defense and has collaborated with several international institutions in the development of diagnostics and medical technologies.

Dr. Abreu made significant discoveries in brain thermodynamics and thermoregulatory frequencies, resulting in patented technologies such as the Abreu btt 700 system, FDA-cleared for continuous measurement of brain temperature. In 2003, he discovered the Brain Thermal Tunnel (btt) at Yale University, enabling continuous and noninvasive measurement of brain temperature. His technologies have been licensed to companies like Nestlé and Alcon Laboratories.

Currently, he is the Medical Director of btt Medical Institute, which offers advanced brain-guided hyperthermia techniques for the treatment of cancer and neurological diseases.
